Costa Rica, how we have fallen in love. We recently returned from an utterly amazing dream holiday in this fabulous country. It was hot, hot, hot and the greenest place I’ve ever been. The wildlife and scenery left us speechless so instead of rambling on here (on my *silver jewellery* blog!) I’ll simply share a handful of photos and recommend that you add this special place to your list of must see locations.
One of the most incredible moments on the holiday was coming face to face with a forest full of humming birds and actually getting to hand feed them. Such astonishing little creatures, they blew me away and we saw at least eight different varieties at a special feeding station set up within the rainforest at one of the eco-lodges we stayed at. A truly breath-taking inspiration, I will think about that moment every time I’m cutting out my humming bird necklaces!
Most of the trip was spent exploring the rain/cloud forest and its wildlife offerings but the final days of the hol were spent on the coast just outside a small surfy town called Tamarindo. This is where I discovered a fab little Jewellery studio, the home of UrbanEclectic next door to a pottery shop. I had found my little crafty corner of the town. I’d like to think I have a gift to sniff out unusual, contemporary jewellery in the most far flung places but in reality I think it’s just mild shopaholicism – I’m bound to see something I like eventually if I go in every shop.
Anyway the great news is you don’t even have to go to Costa Rica to buy UrbanEclectic wares as she is on Etsy and offers free postage.
